pdtraining Gets Active with Bridge to Brisbane 2011

In the early hours of Sunday morning the 11th of September, pdtraining team dragged themselves out of bed and made their way, excited and sleepy, to the start line of the 2011 Bridge to Brisbane.

With a team of seven on the day (a few more than was expected!), they walked and ran their way through the ten kilometre course taking in all the sights and sounds as they went.

Paul, a director of pdtraining, and his son Callum can be congratulated on running the whole way and finishing the race in under an hour. Putting in a top effort also, all of the ladies who participated for the company ran majority of the way. Great efforts considering how busy everyone was in the month leading up to the run.

The event raised over $320, 000 for charities via everyday hero and attracted over 40,000 participants to get up and be active – a great community event for the city of Brisbane. A variety of people showed their support on the day with many dressing up in costumes to add a glamorous or funky touch to their run. Favourites of many would have to have been the two young girls dressed in bright, colourful leotards and shorts who danced along the whole way providing encouragement and support to all of the participants surrounding them…

“You can do it bearded man in blue!”

“Just keep running ladies in pink – you go girl!”

It is the wonderful people in the Brisbane community that make charity event days such as Bridge to Brisbane a fantastic way to get involved, be active and give back. We here at pdtraining look forward to seeing you next year and welcome any new members to the Bridge to Brisbane team.
