DMAIC is an acronym for Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control. These five steps are used to achieve process improvement through reduction in defects. 5S is a system and a work culture enhancement method used to eliminate waste and achieve continuous improvement<\/a>. The five S\u2019 of this system are seiri (sort), seiton (systemise), seiso (sweep), seiketsu (standardise), and shitsuke (self-discipline).<\/p>\n These five S\u2019 are introduced in an organisation or a department that helps to take preventive and corrective measures to eliminate defects. This system assists in organising with the aim to reduce waste. At the end, both reduction in waste and enhancement in productivity is achieved.<\/p>\n Kaizen<\/b><\/p>\n Kaizen is a Sino-Japanese word, which means \u2018good change\u2019. Kaizen is a system adopted to achieve process improvement, workplace culture improvement<\/a>, and elimination of waste.<\/p>\n It involves humanising the workplace and removing excessive work. Kaizen encourages experimentation and participation. Each employee of the organisation participates in Kaizen to improve the work culture and achieve growth of human resources.<\/p>\n DMADV<\/b><\/p>\n The DMADV is an acronym for Define, Measure, Analyse, Design and Verify. It is a system improvement tool that helps to develop new processes or products using the Lean Six Sigma<\/a> methodologies of waste elimination and process productivity enhancement. This methodology is also implemented in existing processes to achieve continuous improvement.<\/p>\n Define: Defining the goals of the project<\/p>\n Measure: Determine the requirements and needs of the customer<\/p>\n Analyse: Examine process options available to meet the determined customer requirements<\/p>\n Design: Detailing the processes to achieve customer requirements<\/p>\n Verify: Confirm if the process chosen will meet customer requirements<\/p>\n The various systems and methods used under Lean Six Sigma creates mechanisms that enhance value of processes, human resources, work cultures and provide optimum worth to both the customers and the company.
